Earning 500+ media mentions in one year
Ian Beacraft, a futurist and creative technologist, wanted to attract media coverage ahead of his featured keynote on generative AI and the metaverse at SXSW in March 2023.
To ensure he stood out at a noisy conference, we worked with him to strengthen his big idea of “The Age of Creative Generalists” and ensure that his message aligned with the current news cycle about the fears of generative AI and the future of work. We also developed his PR and thought leadership strategy to capitalize on the buzz of SXSW.
Ian’s keynote was a huge success. Not only did he get over 75 global media mentions that weekend alone, but his keynote was delivered to an SRO room, and the video of his speech has since been viewed more than 100,000 times. Just one month after his SXSW talk, Ian received a speaking invitation to appear on stage in conversation with the most respected technology journalist in the United States.
Since then, he has received extensive press coverage, earning over 500 media mentions in 2023 and being quoted in outlets like Slate, the Washington Post, and Bloomberg.
In addition to securing a partnership with Boston Consulting Group, Ian has been invited to give numerous paid keynote talks, including on behalf of Google and Microsoft. In 2024, Ian returned to SXSW where he spoke on the main stage.

“Without a doubt, my work with Tracy on my messaging was key to my successes in 2023. Not only did she help me crystalize my ideas and make them applicable to all audiences, but she also helped me understand and anticipate journalists’ reactions. On top of that, she helped me leverage my SXSW speech to attract a ton of media coverage that was a game-changer for the growth of our business. If you are ready to get more attention for your ideas, Tracy has my highest recommendation.”
Attracting a top retail client within weeks of launch
Mike Gunderson, the founder of the top-ranked direct mail agency Gunderson Direct, wanted to raise the profile of his leadership team and also get attention for his new direct response platforms, PostReminder and VoteReminder.
We worked with Mike and his team to develop the PR strategy, messaging, and pitch assets for the agency's executives and his new start-ups.
Upon the launch of PostReminder, Mike earned coverage for the new platform in a leading marketing trade publication. He also used the new messaging to help land a pilot project with one of the nation's largest fashion retailers. Additionally, the agency's COO has booked several interviews on popular marketing podcasts.

”One of the standout achievements during our collaboration with Tracy was the creation of a comprehensive toolkit. This toolkit proved to be an invaluable resource as it equipped us with the tools and strategies needed to effectively pitch reporters and secure media coverage for both VoteReminder and PostReminder.
Tracy's attention to detail, research prowess, and knack for crafting persuasive pitches were evident in every aspect of the toolkit. Without a doubt, I would wholeheartedly recommend Tracy to anyone looking to grow their brand, whether it's an existing business or a new venture.”
Enlisting the governor and raising $80k in an hour
In April 2020, music producers at Windy City Indie wanted to host “Our City of Neighbors,” a live-stream concert that would unite Chicago and raise needed funds for four organizations providing front-line services to local communities. Just one challenge. The concert was in less than two weeks, and our clients didn’t have an online presence.
We led the digital strategy for the concert by empowering the artists to spread the word through their fans. We also supported the media outreach, earning press coverage in multiple media outlets and securing opening remarks for the concert from the governor of Illinois.
More than 1,300 people watched the concert in realtime. Another 7,000 people watched the concert within a week, and the donations totaled more than $80,000, proving Chicago is a city of neighbors that show up for each other.

“Working with Tracy is like having a partner in crime. She fully immerses herself in the art and science of telling your story and growing your audience--both at the strategic level and in the fine details. Strategically, she is spot on. Tracy is quick to set a course—then evaluate and adjust, so time is not wasted and opportunities are not missed. But details are everything in this field and she makes sure to get them right. “
Getting recognized by her industry’s top trade magazine
Rachel Zorel, a creative director, wanted to raise the profile of herself and her agency of female designers based in suburban New Jersey. The challenge was that her team at 7 Layer Studio did Manhattan-level work, but they weren't on journalists' radar as other agencies in New York City were.
First, our team crafted a new sales page designed to increase SEO and acquire new client leads. We then worked with Rachel and her colleague to develop timely pitches that would interest journalists and crafted emails for our client to use to pitch the media.
Rachel’s team got to work and had massive success getting on journalists' radars. Not only did they land an article placement in the top trade publication for graphic designers, GDUSA Magazine, but Rachel was later named "a GDUSA Magazine 2023 Person to Watch."

”As an agency owner, I hired Tracy for guidance and support to market our agency. In our time working together, we discussed everything from brand positioning to marketing opportunities through the lens of PR, social media, and thought leadership. Her insight, experience, and accessibility made the process incredibly valuable, which we are still benefiting from nearly a year later.”
Landing full-morning coverage on Chicago’s top morning TV show
Experiential photographer Margo Popio launched a new immersive photoshoot for the release of Barbie the movie. Because the movie had already debuted when Margo launched her photoshoot, she had to build buzz — fast.
We worked with Margo to create a PR strategy and pitch emails to attract media coverage in Chicago, where her studio is based. We set expectations that it would be a stretch since the media had already done extensive coverage of Barbie-related events.
And then, WGN Morning News —Chicago’s top-rated morning show — reached out to Margo. Not only did they want to feature her photoshoot, but they wanted two of their on-air reporters to get the complete Barbie photoshoot experience. On top of that, they wanted to feature the photoshoot throughout their morning news show.
The segments were wildly successful; within a few hours, Margo had received over 25 requests to book photoshoots.

“Tracy is the sharpest tool in my toolbox. She is in your corner… she comes up with the hook that snaps it all together. A true creative thinker, she opens your world and asks you the hard questions that take you to the next level, even when you think you know everything about your business. The PR Accelerator formula that she created is so fine-tuned because she is. She comes to you with the highest variety of experiences, clients, and focuses. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my company’s reputation.”
Defining a methodology to accelerate her sales
Christi Powell had an unusual challenge as she was growing her side business that empowers elite athletes and high performers to overcome seemingly insurmountable hurdles through the power of visualization and mindset training.
The problem was that she also works as an advertising creative director and is not a traditional coach. We turned that into her advantage, repositioning Christi as a visualization strategist who leveraged her 15 years in advertising to create a methodology to help clients find the right words and mental images to propel themselves forward.
Since she has implemented her new positioning and messaging system, Christi’s sales have accelerated to record levels.

Tracy is an investment that is worth every penny.”
